As of this writing, the Red Sox have won 5 of 6 (I know, they're not the Indians), and that has helped further solidify their hold on first place in the AL EAST. The pesky Yankees are still hanging in there only 4 games back, so nothing is set in stone yet.

Importantly for the Red Sox, the offense has seemingly shaken off its post-ASB lethargy and really come alive recently, just in time to complement a fairly consistent overall performance by the pitching staff (starters and relievers both) all year as the team heads into the stretch run.

Interesting note: It's looking more and more like the Houston Astros will finish up the regular season with 4 games in Boston, and then both teams will turn around and travel to Houston for the ALDS. Could be 6 or 7 games in a row -- that should be interesting (if it comes to that).
